Hello Everyone, and thank you for taking the time to read this post - Using my 2320 with a 60" mid mounted deck to cut my grass - I mow about 3 1/2 acres and it is mostly old farm filed now trying to be grass, Got a fair amount of undulation and rough -ish terrain, and pound the crap out of those front riding wheels - mostly problem is obviously during turning. Has anyone ever found or switched out those front "non directional" casters for a swivel type? If so could you share what has worked - I have been looking for a swivel type caster with the same O.D. post and wheel and cannot find ? thanks again - Gizzard

I think your model of MMM is a floating deck. Thus the wheels are not suppose to ride on the ground. But rather, the wheels are suppose to ride higher than the height level that you select, approx. 1/2 - 3/4 inch higher than the cutting height.

However, one can still break a weld where the wheels mount, if one hits certain raised solid objects like a rock or curb or stump. Maybe this info will help if your's is a floating deck.

cheers,
Mike

Do you mow at a fast speed?

Have you considered a bush hog for your mowing?

Hi Mike - thank you for the response - the deck is kind of free floating - I did go by the Manufacturer's guidelines - which were - while on level ground set desired height - then set casters to approx 1/2 " above ground height - mowed all last year without the wheels even on and the lawn looked like crap

Not really - have considered a pull behind instead of mid mount ?
