A 74 year old man was killed while mowing grass at Hope Community Church in New Hanover on Thursday. The man was pulling a "gang" of reel mowers with an old Farmall up an embankment that was estimated to be 40 degrees when the tractor flipped over on top of him. The story appeared on the front page of The Mercury a local paper in Pottstown PA. :( The victim was the father of the church pastor.

That is sad news. We had an elderly gentleman ran over by his tractor yesterday. I don't know the details yet. He has an old hand crank tractor along with more current model(s). I don't know if he cranked the old tractor with it in gear, if he was cranking one of the newer tractors from the ground, or if he fell from the running tractor. From what I've heard, he's lucky to be alive and may lose his leg.

There was a man killed around Huntsville, Alabama when his John Deere Tractor was hit by an 18 Wheeler. The accident is under investigation.
