I know this has been beat to death but I have another toothbar question. I was talking to my dealer last week an he quoted me a ballpark figure of 245.00 for a woods toothbar. does anybody know about the quality of these?

kevin: not familar with woods toothbar, but do now that their other products are first class, so i would imagine the toothbar is also. i have a detachable bar made by long and it is verywell built. and 245 seems like a verygood price.

I have only seen one Woods toothbar. It was a 72" new one. Not near as heavy duty as my Bobcat toothbar. I see you have a TC40. I might be a little worried about the strength given the power of your loader. I bought my 66" bobcat toothbar for $200 used but in excellent condition. Had to remove 1" to make it fit. New bobcat toothbar sells for about $400+. I have put the entire lift of the loader on just one tooth and have not had any problems. The bobcat main bar and teeth are probably 50% thicker and heavier than the Woods. I know many TBN followers have used the Woods product without anyone mentioning a problem. Just my 2 cents.

I just picked up a Woods toothbar for my L4610 and it is very nice and heavy duty. No complaints what so ever and I think you will be very pleased with it.

I'm not familiar with Woods toothbars, but like already stated, their products are usually of good quality. I was lucky /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif to find a good heavy duty 5' toothbar (heavier than most that I've seen on compact tractors)at a local large heavy equipment dealership that was ordered for a JohnDeere front end loader (Bobcat style heavy duty escavation - I think) and then the party that ordered it backed out. This item was a special order for them since it was for a "small bucket" in their normal market & they just wanted to get rid of it. I talked them down to $230 from $395 mostly due to the fact that it was sitting on their books for a year. As a possible product source that others may not have checked into, a few of their items seem better priced than the "Agriculture" dealers & they do barter. This is probably due to the fact that we have 3 (yes 3) big heavy equipment dealers here in our town of 15000 people & only 1 small Ag dealer. Here in SE Ohio, there is still a presence of the mining industrial.

My dealer quoted me $300 for a Woods toothbar (also for a TC40D), so it sounds like you're getting a good price. He showed one to me and certainly looked heavy duty.

I have had a Woods tooth bar on my B21 for the last 2 years with no sign of wear. You are working a larger tractor but that would not make me hesitate on a Woods product. By the way, that is a better price than I got, sounds like a good deal.

I have one on my TC45 and it has taken all the abuse I've thrown at it -- I bent it a bit taking out a stump - but it also lifted the rear of the tractor doing it ...

Thanks for all the input, I have ordered a woods toothbar for my boomer and should see it in a week or so. For my needs it should do well as I won't be doing a lot of heavy digging.
