It's a Woods 5000 Chipper/Shredder. My first real job with the tractor is to get rid of a large pile of brush that I have been building upon since I gave up on repeated trips to dump during this spring.

Here's a shot of the MMM. I am really suprised by how quite it is while engaged. Much quiter than my lawn tractor. It does rattle a bit while in ground contact, but a rubberband or two should quite the guilty pins.

It looked like wood (no pun intended) in the first shot. I thought you had a desk or something behind the tractor.

What did the chipper run you? I've got lots of brush piling up this summer, I have to wait untill winter to burn it (MA state law).

Here's the 3pt blade. I plan to do some scraping of trails in the fall and snow removal in the winter: my driveway only.

It was $2276. I don't know if it was a good price, but the dealer had one in stock and now I have it in my backyard. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Also, not to run up too many posts, here is my last "planned" pic today. Of course, I will do special requests: tractor pics only. /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

Congrats, BigDave!!! Welcome to the Blue Club. It looks like the 33D has turn signals in addition to the orange hazard flashers??

What??? No picture of the proud new owner sitting behind the wheel, grinning ear to ear?/w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

No? Okay. /w3tcompact/icons/sad.gif Instead, how about a better shot of the chipper/shredder? Or better yet, a picture of the c/s in action?

Oops! I just noticed that you did show a picture of the chipper/shredder. Some action shots would still be nice to see./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Mike,

Thanks, the orange lights do double duty: 1. Hazard lights with a toggle on the dash. 2. Turn signals with a switch near tilt steering adjuster. I assume the red lights are the brakes.

Chris,

Once the thunder outside is done, I plan to attack my brush pile, but for now the "Iggy" aka "The Blue Iguana" is in the garage occupying my wife's spot for her car. I'll have to move it before she get's home from work. /w3tcompact/icons/sad.gif

My tractor pictures only reference was to fend requests for ****** clad wife pictures on the tractor: she already said NO!!! /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif Just kidding. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

After Shot.

Lessons learned:
1. Wear hearing protection, the chipper is LOUD!!
2. Wear eye protection, it spits small bits of material back out.
3. Wear a filter mask, it creates a good amount of dust
4. Watch the output chute, (this model in particular) chips can block the chute.
5. Use a tamper if your are putting leaves and small stuff in, it doesn't want to go down without help.
6. Use a leaf blower on the tractor & chipper afterwards to clean them up.

Comments:
1. Wow!! /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif It turn small trees into tooth picks quickly.
2. It grabs the wood an sucks it in.
3. It stalled the tractor once. A 7 foot long hard wood tree about 4.5" across was a little too much for the unit to continually cut. The rpm just started slowing down under load. Softer wood that size went down easily.

Finally, I took off the chipper, the FEL and the MMM chute in about a half hour. The chute will stay off. Tucked the tractor away in my shed with no problem. Unfortunately, now I have to go on a three day business trip. /w3tcompact/icons/sad.gif

That's a nice pile of sawdust you got there, Dave. Looks like you will be creating plenty of mulch for the garden and flowerbeds.

As for the three day business trip - absence makes the heart grow fond!/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Congrats!! It looks like the NH TC33D quadruplets are now all home and healthy. /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif Of course these babies are maternal quads, since yours has that big tail. Looks good. /w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif

Personal note: This past weekend, my sister-in-law asked me what color did I select for my new tractor. I said I picked blue. She wanted to know why I picked that color. I said it was the only color they came in. I don't think she believed me. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Nice set up, Larry! /w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif I'm drooling across country!! /w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif

But I do have one question. What the heck is it sitting there for when there's a pile of dirt just screaming to be moved! /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif
