Pic #4. If this weekend turns out as rainy as predicted, I'm starting on assembly of the fertilizer attachment.

Indydirtfarmer, I have two 71's, where do I get a fiberglass planter box. Also interested in the fertilizer attachment, what does it look like, what drives it? Thanks Rodney

I like the fiberglass containers too.. looks like they would be easier to fill. I don't believe I've seen a better job done on the paint/details of the planters & 3pt hitch.. looks so solidly built.. we'd wear out before those planters will. Great job Indydirtfarmer!!

Deere MIGHT still have a few fiberglass seed hoppers in their system. I bought a 16 row planter with them already on it. Most people prefer the smaller ones for garden use. A pair of the fibergalss hoppers will hold enough seed corn to plant 7 to 9 acres without stopping. If you have a good set of the smaller metal hoppers, I know of a TBN member that's wanting to swap a set for his fiberglass set. PM me and I'll try to make the connection for you.

The fertilizer attachment I'm working on is a liquid system. It will be "powered" with a 12V "on demand" type of electric pump. I'm using a pair of (rectangle) 20 gallon plastic tanks mounted over the toolbar. I'm still working out the details on them.

I'm just starting to work on a granular fertilizer attachment. Lots of details to work out there.

Did the original 71 planters come with fertilizer attachments? The ones I've seen do not have fertilizer boxes. By the way Indydirtfarmer, how much are you asking for the planters you are building?

They were available with a fertilizer attachment, but VERY few were sold. I've only seen ONE planter with them.

I'm looking at $750 for the basic planter.
