Hi to all on the forum. I found this site while looking up parts and operating info for my Yanmar clone 186F diesel genset. I also have several tractors that I maintain and use around the property - and thought this looked like a pretty good source for information and user expertise. I have a gas '41 Farmall BN that is mainly used as a "parade queen" and parked as yard art on my film location - and a diesel Massey Fergusson MF30 used as a workhorse around the place. I am an electrical engineer running a very small company specializing in advanced military power systems. I have a small collection of old civie and military powered equipment that I maintain - but engine mechanics isn't at the top of my "skills" list. Looking forward to joining in some of the interesting discussions I have only followed as a silent guest over the past few months!

Appreciate the welcome, Wagtail! I have always wanted to visit your fascinating country. My son has recently had to update his passport - preparing for an upcoming business trip to Melbourne. No worries, Mate.

I'm sure that you wouldn't need to fabricate a story, what with your own business expertise. There are a few military manufacturers & outfitter companies within the State of Victoria that you could conduct your own 'meet & greet' tour. There's even "Incat", here in Tasmania... they build the super-fast catamaran ferry that are sold world-wide. (hold the trans-Atlantic trophy)

Never been to Hi Vista. Closest I've come is driving the Pearblossom Hwy (138) on trips to San Bernardino and back.

I used to collect old tractors when I had my 10 acre ranch near Red Bluff--1948 Farmall Cub, 1951 Farmall Super A, 1964 MF135 diesel plus others. Nothing like restoring old iron to improve your engine/tranny/hydraulics skills.
