Another JD 2210 MMM deck control knob question.

Not to beat a dead horse but... the dealer came out today and worked on the deck adjustment height knob. (It previously did not move at all). It now rotates 360 degress. And the 5 indicator is 5 inches, 4 is 4 inches, etc. However it only moves counter clockwise. The dealer says that is the way it is supposed to work. Sounds questionable to me. The manual says 360 degress but does not say anything about what direction. Does anybody have any idea if this is correct? (I am still thinking about switching to the 4110 /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif).

i recently had a problem with my deck as well. while i had the deck off. i looked under the tractor at the adjustment mechanism. and it is made to rotate all the way around.
it will rotate all the way. but all the linkage has to be adjusted just right.
i also found out that if you adjust the rear link to short.( in order to get the adjuster to work better). it will bend the rod very easily. oops /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Just ran out and checked and it does move in either direction, mine was pretty stiff when new. I lubed it from underneath when I had the deck off and it seemed to loosen up a bit. Make sure the deck is raised all the way when you try and move it.

The knob is designed to rotate a full 360 degrees in either direction.

Thank you. I will either call the dealer again or more likely just do it myself. It'll probably be less effort than waiting for the dealer

If it works the same as the BX adjustment knob make sure you have the deck raised all the way up before you try to turn the knob. This takes the weight of the deck off the adjustment stops, otherwise it will be very hard to turn.
