My 2320 developed a pinhole at the weld in the radiator neck. The dealer installed a new radiator without any fuss.
My concern is that the engine got pretty hot before I noticed the red light. I was operating in very dusty conditions and just didn't pay enough attention to the instrument panel.
I just wonder if down the road somewhere that the overheating will cause me a problem. Have considered upgrading the tractor for that reason plus the reviews I have read on TBN regarding the 2320 vs 2520 issue.
I PM'd with a fellow TBN'er over the issue of the hood screens and radiator screens constantly needing cleaing due to the dry grass accumulation. The tractor heats if I don't do this. ( I operate in West Texas and the western part of the hill country so mowing damp grass is usually not an option). Seems to help just wetting the hood screens prior to and during mowing. I have no problem with this with the 5203 with the rotary cutter.
Have also considered, like the poster with the hole in the 2305 radiator, downgrading to a 790 and using a pull behind finish mower. It would not have the maneurerability that the mmm provides, but I am thinking the debris accumulation might not be as sever with the pull behind. I bought the 2320 rather than the 790 because the 790 was not available with the MMM and 4WD.
Anyhow, just wondered what you all think about the heating issue as to long term. It got hot enough that it was steaming--I did not see it for the dust.
I had rather take a "bath" on a trade now than later as I plan to retire in 1-3 years. Figure if I have to overhaul it down the road, its the same difference.
