Another Day...Another Tree...

OK, so today I removed the next tree on the chopping block.

I thought I was going to have cut it up before I dug out the stump, but the BX was enough to just push it over. Wow!!! :confused2:

Next, I took the two main pieces to the brush pile. I had to chain them to the bucket. Alright, I used the bucket lip, but they were not very heavy, just bulky.

On the second trip, I...well...lost my load:

Up here the wet fall weather makes the trees much easy to tip over. Bad news is that often the wind flops down the ones we'd like to keep.

And I found out that the $400. thumb I bought ..... the one I did not know what I'd use for ............ is perfect for hauling brush and limbs ...... really glad I have it now.

You take the pile like you show in the photos ...back up to it ..... crush down with the BH ..... pick the whole pile up and drive away ...... turns five trips into one.

If I took pix of every tree I cut down, chipped up and/or stump pulled, it would take forever to clear my land. :laughing: Think I did 15 a week ago Saturday and Sunday working 3 hrs a day on it. And I'm sure there are guys on here who would call my efforts "lazy" at that. :laughing:
Usually, I'll take a pic before I start an area and then one when I'm done for the day, just to show the before and after. But... wife just yawns anyway when I show them to her. :laughing:

Is taking pics with a camera or camera phone while operating a tractor as dangerous as texting while driving????????:laughing:

Just kidding. Good job on the removal. Do you know what kind of tree it was?? It looks like some sort of fruit tree like an apple or pear tree. Those are usually easy to remove because once they die they seem to rot rather quickly at the base and break right off.

It might have been some sort of fruit tree, but I'm not sure. It was about 25% dead, and very ugly...

i had an instance over the summer where i was cleaning the ditch on the side of our driveway with the CT322. I had my grapple on at the time (better cutting edge) and accidentally hit a tree. It fell luckly away from the cab so i just picked it up, closed the jaws, and carried it 1/2 mile up the driveway to the burn pile. I had my siter get a picture of it on her cell phone. :thumbsup:
