Had a Old Sthil 041 do that . Ended up pulling the carb and the gasket below the carb was missing a chunk . Would start on 2 or 3 pulls when cold but hot !!!!!!
I was going to replace carb , thus was removing it and found bad gasket . Replaced gasket and Saw started on 2 or 3 pulls Hot or Cold all the way till I sold it .
