I am considering replacing the current 14.9 24 turf tires that came on my "new-to-me" MF FE 35 with Ag Tires.
From a traction point of view would I be better off with the 11 X 28 Ag tires as specificed in the owners manual or would the 14.9 X 24 size provide more traction because they are a wider profile.
From a cost point of view, assuming new centres, rims, tubes (not sure if the ones on the tractor are in good enough shape to reuse) and tires, is one size more common and/or expensive than the other.

Thanks for any insights.

Is the tractor 4wd? If it is, i would stay with the original size unless you want to replace the fronts too. The 14.9s will be a bit taller than the 11s as well as being wider. If its 2wd then I'd go for the larger tires if you are going to be replacing the rims anyway. The original rims may be too narrow to properly mount the wider tires. The larger tires will give you more traction as well as increased flotation and the potential to add more weight with liquid fill than the 11s.
