Okay guys,
I know I'm not the only one that is tired of listening to my loader mounting lynch pins rattle when working with my tractor!
What have any of you done to quiet this annoying rattle?

What rattle? Maybe that's one of the differences between the 1500 and 2500 series machines. LOL

No rattle on the 4035 (35 series) ML120 loader pins either.

Pull the pin, put a squirt of high pressure grease in the hole, reinstall the pin. The grease will be sticky and thick enough the pin won't rattle. As long as you don't overdo it, there won't be a mess.

I like to go for the cheap fix that requires no modifications first...

I vote weld them but I do a lot of welding :)

I would reckon you don't remove your loader much... :D

I've notice the pins rattle on mine but a move of the loader = quiet. Weld? Great idea, but no.

When you're a hammer the world looks like a nail!!

Never, lol. If I take it off I'll have to put it back on, that's the whole point in having a tractor with a loader on it I thought? If I don't need a loader then I need another tractor without a loader :)

zip ties go a long ways with that model

My 1540 Massey Isike does the same

I use these tarp tie-down bungees for the pin rattle (and a bunch of other tasks around the house) - they're like $5 per 25 at Home Depot.

Cut a "bushing" out of a piece of rubber hose or silastic tubing that fits over the big pin and is just a little longer than the distance from the loader frame to the edge of the lynch pin hole. Slide the piece of hose over the loader pin and then put the lynch pin in place. The rubber hose will put a little pressure against the lynch pin to keep it from rattling.

I feel your pain. The pins for our 2538 loader rattled so bad, it was almost to much. The thing is our 2555 pins don't rattle at all. It must be the harmonics from the specific engine in the 2538.

My 6520's loader pins don't rattle. Guess the ML175 loader is just too much weight to rattle. But my ROPS pins rattled enough for me to swap them out for bolts.
hugs, Brandi

I like this idea, I put the bingee cords as shown in post #10 from rokit (thanks rokit!)
But I might try this out as I would like the look better.
Thanks!

Earplugs ??:p

Actually I took the rattle as a positive sign the superstructure mounts are doing the job of carrying the FEL load, and not the pins...but then again, I'm weird that way. Mine don't do it all the time. Haven't isolated the conditions when it does rattle yet.

I do like the grease idea though. Nice and simple.

I use those bungee's a lot. Great invention----
however I needed some bigger ones for my extension cords and other tasks.
SO
Drilled 1/2 way thru old golf balls and custom made bigger HD ones using heavier bungee elastic that I had on hand.
Real handy for coiled hoses and my 50 ft 12 g extensions.

Rattle gone!

That's what I plan to do too (use bolts in place of ROPS pins). The loader pins are rattling like crazy, so I'll try the small bungees first, and if that doesn't get it, I know a generous application of grease will.
