Does anyone know about what angle to put a QA plate on a non power trac attachment? i'm thinking of getting pallet forks from this company within the next month or so. Micro Pallet Forks for Compact Skid Steers i can measure the height from my pt attachments but not sure of the angle in which the QA plate has to be. thanks in advance.

My attachments have different angles to the vertical. The plate on my forks is about 5 degrees toward the tips, but that is the bend on the forks, not that the plate has been wedged out.

I would worry more about getting the plate as close as possible to the forks, since that will impact the tipping load.

All the best,

Peter

You need to ask ksimolo. He turned me onto a company that provided both of us pallet forks, loader bucket and backhoe arm. Problem was the guy did not attach the plates correctly to Kens gear and Ken had to rebuild his qa plates to get the proper angle. I think it is like Peter said, around 5 degrees (I was thinking 7.5 but what do I know as I am not there).

With pallet forks more is not a bad thing. You want pallets pitching up not down so the more of an angle it won't be an issue...

Here are pix of what the Lackendar did with my bucket and pallet fork

I'll give a simplistic reply. If you space it out about one to two inches at the bottom, it will probably be workable. I've made some attachments that aren't perfect in that respect, but they're all good enough.

Wow. These look PERFECT for a 425, especially if you want adjustable forks. How much do these things cost? What's the total cost including a QA plate?

I put a protractor on my set of forks and it measures just around 12 degrees off vertical. I measured the angle of the QA plate on the box blade and that is at 32 degrees off vertical. Hope that helps

I replaced the fixed "tilt bar" with an adjustable top link. I messed up when welding the new plate on the bucket - got the angle wrong so it did not dump enough. It would be nice if these had a larger range of motion.

I priced one of those about three years ago, and as I recall they were about $550 + shipping + cost of the QA plate. And, that was before the big bump in the price of steel...

Here's the picture that you asked for, Carl. It is a simple swap. It does give you some adjustability.
