I saw the article on CNN, then Youtube. Pretty amazing. Especially since almost everyone there thought she was going to be a goof. Instead, amazing singing and standing ovation.

What a great story and ..... voice !!! That just brought tears to my eyes ! And i really enjoyed watching the facial expressions of both the judges and audience !

I was as surprised as anyone - I loved the look on Simon's face and the enthusiasm of the audience. Sad in a way though, just cuz a woman isn't super hollywood pretty should not mean we assume she's like the 4th of the three stooges or a natural underdog. Sure, celebrities have been around for ages and a great many of them have been very attractive. But, look at the old movies and singers and dancers. Half of them probably would not get picked up by the studios today because they are not supermodel hot or handsome.

That woman can sing!!

I don't watch much TV anymore and what I do watch is not on ABC, CBS, etc. I did watch the YouTube of her this weekend and she has a wonderful voice. On the other hand I think the panel or at least Simon knew it as well.

But that does not take anything away from her talent. I read an article that she spent her savings a few years ago to make a CD that she passed around to friends and family. She might sing locally in/around the village she lives in but that is as far as she has gotten.

I hope she gets some good fame and fortune for her talent.
