Well I put 5 hrs on it brush hogging...did a fine job....4ft rotary mower,,,got the loader too...I notice it pukes a little gear oil out the front right axle breather.....and I notice the oil dip stick wants to keep coming part way out...what to do to fix these ???

Now it says for the 50 hr to chg engine oil and both tranny filters...I am not close to a dealer,,,where is a good place to but ll the filters ?? Does NAPA have a cross ???

Also where is a good place to get engine oil and what weight for yr round use ??

Its a fun machine !

Aftermarket had not caught up when I did my 50 hr. service so I went to the dealer. Dealer did not have all filters in stock so I prepaid for them and had them shipped direct to me. Not sure if available on cross reference yet as I haven't checked lately. You can order them online at various places or call the dealer, pre-pay and have them shipped to you. I've ordered stuff from the Pulaski and Latham NY dealers directly.

For oil, I switched to Rotella T6 synthetic 5W-40 (available at Walmart or auto store). If you don't go synthetic, any quality diesel oil 5W-40, 10W-30 will work. I stay with these weights due to cold temps here in Upstate NY.

You're also going to need some hydraulic fluid to top off the system when you change those filters. I had the new filter prepped and ready to go and was quick to change them but still lost about 1-2 quarts. I buy it in 5 gallon pails and have a pump that fits in the pail. TSC (travelers premium) is avail in smaller containers (2 gallon size).

Check the level in your front axle, it may be overfilled. No reason other than that for it to come out the breather cap. Does your dipstick have an O-ring, If so spray it with contact cleaner or brake cleaner and reinstall.

My tractor also had dipstick issues, dealer ordered a new one and fixed the problem.
My right front axle was leaking oil too. I had dealer order a seal kit for it and installed it myself, still leaks out of the breather.

Rex,,,,,now im wondering if its the axle leaking and not the breather...how many hours were on yours before it started ?? And was oil running right out of it ??? Mine was wet around the breather and on the lower cast ...but I had filled it or topped it off earlier.....how do I know for sue its not the seal and how hard was it to chg ??

For the dip stick coming out I just hook the top behind the cowl and this keeps it in place.
