Ford - New Holland 1520
Howdy all, got a newb (I guess) question...I have a 1993 Ford 1520 with 4 wheel drive and hydrostatic transmission that I am about to buy a Amerequip 6600 a used (OEM version of JD 46 Backhoe) for. The backhoe comes with a 3pt Hitch and a PTO hydraulic pump. From what I've read, it isn't the best thing to hitch a backhoe to the 3pt hitch as it can lead to tearing the 1520 in half. So that a sub assembly attached to the frame is the way to go for strength and safety.

I was wondering if anyone has ever done this before, and/or have built a subframe for a 1520. Also is there any diagrams out there for how to do so?

Also, what's a good price for a used 6600/JD 46? Anyone can tell me what they are new?

Appreciate any help on this.

Thank you in Advance,
