My view has been that unions are good if your boss is a jerk and bad if your boss is great!
The first manufacturing plant I worked at as an engineer in 1991 the employees there basically ran off the last union rep that wanted to start a union there. The management was great and there was no need for a union.

We both use it. Whether it does anything useful for @beowulf's wife is another story...
Yeah, based on JethroB's suggestion we both started using it. We noticed, however, that it is not a permanent setting - you have to reset it each night - I suppose each time you turn the ipad on. It's one of those things, though, that will be difficult to assess- i.e., whether, or how much it is helpful - but we will continue using it. We also bought some clip-on blue blocker glasses. Again, hard to assess the overall positive effects - old eyes do get tired.

Hmmm. It is a permanent setting for us...
You want to enable the scheduled mode, not set the manual mode, which is a one day thing.

i think amazon prime is worth it if you make use of amazon video, free shipping + alot of movies + shows and cheaper than netflix
I don’t use anything but the free shipping, but it’s worth it to me. I frequently order from Amazon and often my orders are for cheap items where the shipping would cost more than the item. I order whatever I need that’s not available in local stores and order whenever needed. I love that about Prime. I just ordered 2 oil filters for my lawn mower for a cost of $14 total. Without Prime, the shipping would have probably cost $10.

Boomers got stroked with the tale that they deserved whatever rich people gave them. Big companies made $billions while they took away your pension plans.
Nobody "took away" my pension plan, nowhere I worked ever offered one. Other than government job, that perk went away with my parents' generation.
Other than a supermarket chain I worked at for a year or so while I was "between jobs", none of the companies I worked for in my entire career are still in business, so even if they did have a pension, it would be gone.

1st major company I worked for had a pension plan. It pales in comparison to the money I have accumulated in my 401k plans.

We had a pension plan and 401K. The coop board felt the need to phase it out so per new contract several years ago any new hires got an enhanced 401K.

I haven't had an increase in my take home for a 40hr week in 10 years. I have my 401k set to increase each year for around the same amount as my annual raise.

The only time I notice the raise is when I get overtime.
