So someone who, for whatever reason, can't move to other opportunities should be taken advantage of by a greedy corporation? That makes sense.

I've had to put up with a B.S. employer and positions because I had a family to support and a mortgage. Even as an engineer I found it difficult to find other gainful opportunities. Now imagine being over 50 and trying to find a decent job.

We sure getting off the prime thread here.... Nonetheless, you got that right. I've been paid peanuts by small family operations and even some mid sized corps who "we pay profit sharing" and never did see that check. If you don't have a spouse with a job receiving reasonable pay, you are %$#!(. I now see why unions came along...

I'm sure sitting in a seat for 10 hrs can be grueling dealing with traffic but I wouldn't compare it to 10 hrs standing doing mind numbing repetitive tasks all the while with the pressure of meeting an hourly quota.

Nor would I compare it. I've done both and driving, especially in traffic was far more taxing. Want a reputative task, try shifting gears up and down continually all the while watching out for some half-wit who decides the 50 feet in front of your loaded truck is the perfect place for his Beamer. The stress levels when driving in traffic in and around a city are much higher than any work quota in a warehouse.

Our neighbor down the street says that his dog goes nuts when it hears a UPS truck within a block away. Only UPS. There must be a difference in the way it sounds.

Thats why I check all of them before buying. I am only loyal to myself not a store.
It comes down to how long can I wait and how much does the total with shipping come to.

Yup, same here, I generally price compare with at the very least a simple google search. Sometimes I found significantly cheaper prices at Home Depot, Costco and Walmart, or elsewhere, even with non-free shipping added into the price.

Years ago I switched to Dollar Shave Club. Some podcast was running a sponsor promo and so I tried them. No complaints and you can tweak the shipment. There's another company that does the same thing. Drawing a blank on the name.

I was a dollar shave club guy for a long time. Their blades have gone way down hill. I switch to Harrys. MUCH better blades. Same basic cost. Give them a try!

Can't speak for anyone else..... only myself. Over the years of 2019, 2020 and 2021, I have placed an average of 74 orders each year. I have paid $0 shipping and all were delivered. I would guess that each shipped order cost would start at about $15 each - Via Fedex and/or UPS. $15 x 74 orders would cost around $1,110 per year. Now, the $99 - $130 Prime fee looks to be a better deal for my use. And, the shipping cost has gone up. Now the average seems to be about $18.

Amazon works for me and so does Prime. If it does not work for others, then they should not use Amazon or Prime.

Looking back all the way to 2000 my business with Amazon has on aggregate been steadily increasing. Most of the items I'm purchasing are not available locally.

Dog food, TP, toothpaste—stuff that would have come from my local Wally world now comes up my driveway saving me the hassle of dragging those items home myself. Not to mention going to town takes an hour of travel time in total, and blows at least two gallons of fuel. so as energy costs rise, it is more and more affordable to purchase online. Not to mention the free video perks.

In other news, I don't use a landline phone or cable TV anymore either.

I may in the future. My issues is every two years the pivot breaks on the shave handle. First time they sent me a new one. last year I had to pay for it.
