Amazon Sucks

UPS also sometimes drops the packages at the Post Office. Last month, I ordered 4 items from Sears Parts Direct. They were shipped via UPS. The tracking number showed when they arrived in town, but 2 days later 3 of them were delivered by our mail carrier. I called Sears about the one missing, and was told they'd send a replacement. The next day, our mail carrier delivered the missing one. Later, the replacement arrived, again shipped via UPS, but delivered by our mail carrier. So, once again, I called Sears and they sent me a return label to send it back via UPS at their expense. Of course I have no way of knowing whether the one that was lost for one day was UPS or USPS, but I'd bet it was USPS.
Thanks for posting.

Yeah, I hate that SmartPost (that's what they call it, not me). I can literally see our Post Office from my front yard and the main route out of town runs right past my house. If I get something shipped by SmartPost, either UPS or Fedex, they'll drive right past my house to the Post Office and drop it off there, which means I won't get it until the next day. I'd rather pay a little extra for home delivery than have something shipped via SmartPost. But, for as long as I've been a member of Amazon Prime, they've never shipped anything to me other than door delivery.

What is the summary of what you get with Amazon Prime? It is fairly pricey annual dues, if memory serves, so I have not signed up (yet).

Since OP has not returned, I guess it's ok to highjack the thread & keep going. I am a satisfied Amazon customer, but don't buy tons of stuff from them.

Thanks in advance for help.

I don't know what SmartPost is but here's my USPS peeve :) We all have our mailboxes at the end of our dirt road where it meets the main road. I'm about 1000ft from those mailboxes in fact I can see them from the end of my driveway. Now if have a package delivered that wont fit the box they wont come to my yard but instead leave a slip telling me that my package will be delivered to the general store 2 miles away and I can go pick it up there...oh well!

More than a few times I have clicked to purchase on Amazon.ca and get told that the seller won't ship to Canada, yet I am on .CA
If they don't want to ship then don't list !

Correct me, if I'm incorrect. I heard that sometimes these measures are taken, due to Taxes. I heard that is why Amazon uses UPS.

I'm not sure if they do that in other states but it wouldn't matter in NH as we have no sales tax.

the only thing i don't like about amazon is that i missed cashing in on the stock run up. delivery is great and most things i need are prime qualified. they should include streaming music (like spotify) with the prime package. here in VA amazon collects sales tax.

Man you are correct on this one. I could have made a fortune had I bought the stock a few years ago. It really took off once they introduced the Kindle. I didn't really look at Amazon as they don't pay a dividend. Lesson learned.

FYI - if you live in Indiana, you will now start paying a 7% sales tax on Amazon.
