Nope your not the only one. I can clearly remember the day, several years ago, I went to dump a bucket full of debris over the embankment. Much to my dismay, well you get the picture. After calling myself a few choice names and checking for witness's that might need to be silenced. I grabbed a couple of chains and retrieved my bucket.
I like your idea of the bright green reminder that the latch's are still open. I might just have to copy it.

Doh! My biggest fear is elevating and rolling the bucket or forks back and getting a lap full of iron. I might scratch my Blue Beauty! Oh, and get hurt.

I've been wanting to get enough of those cages to do my year's worth of firewood in....... thats a great idea. Cost keeps prohibiting me.

It works great. I'd like to have enough af them to do all my wood in, but I only have the one. I got it from a customer who somehow smuggled it from a mill. I cut an opening in one side and then welded in a frame. My wood stays outside and I bring it in one tote at a time. I have a pallet jack in the shop that lets me move it once there. The preferred spot is under the ceiling fan that circulates hot air from the stove.
