I've been looking at the cub cadet gt2550. I have 2 acres of bermuda grass and it's fairly flat with a slight slope around the house. I need the gt for mainly for mowing, but also some ground engaging and lawn care (dethatch, aerate, fertilize). Is this tractor too much or not enough for my needs?

Also, as I mentioned I have bermuda grass (1 acre hybrid and 1 acre common). I am concerned with the fact the mower cut height only goes down to 1.5". Is there any safe way to get that a little lower (closer to 1") for my hybrid bermuda? Honestly, right now that is the only drawback for me, but I am sure I could live with it.

You can adjust the deck & gauge wheels so the deck shell drags on the ground if you want to. You'd beat the heck out of the deck and scalp like crazy set like that. The bigger decks have larger discharge openings that dont clog as easily. The 54" has the largest opening.

I have a like new 3200(29hours) listed in the classifieds and just put on ebay. You could get the Cadillac for a little more than the Buick(LOL).
Either way you are getting a fine tractor.
