I would like to add a decent antenna (indoor) to improve reception on my stereo receiver beyond what I currently get with the basic T-wire that came with it. Any suggestions?

I am anxious to see suggestions...We get a few channels on our FM receiver but on most channels we get a horrible sounding beep....beep ..beep that pulsates...sounds like some kind of electrical interference...

Google is your friend. There are fabrication plans for single-frequency antennas (if you're trying to receive a particular station) as well as wider band fm antennas. Of course, the fast route is simply to buy one. Look at Winegard or Blonder-Tongue for the good stuff.

Connecting to an outdoor antenna will usually provide the most improvement. And, the higher the antenna, the better (for all practical purposes!).

The more "things" you can eliminate between the transmitting antenna & your receiving antenna, the better. "Things" being the walls of your house, the furniture near your indoor antenna, trees, hills, etc.

Just as an aside- How long do you think it will be before radio goes all-digital, and we toss our analog rigs?

I bought a cheap one from Radio Shack years ago, the kind meant for mount on a mast outside. I stuck it up in my attic and hung it from the trusses then ran RG6 to my stereo center, it work excellent and it's out of sight.

I have a high gain tv antenna on the top of a 70' tower along with my wireless internet antenna and a high gain antenna for cell phone. I get great TV reception but I cannot use it for FM because of a lot of noise.

I am looking for a FM pass filter that might get rid of the noise.

Any suggestions?

Vernon

I do not want to put anything outdoors and was hoping to eliminate the need to run cable to the attic but that might be my final outcome. Was hoping to find a powered unit that I could place on our stereo stand.

Have you tried an old set of TV rabbit ears?

No I haven't but I did see on some searchs where people had some luck with those. Might give that a try first, thanks.
