Anyone knew Alvin Straight?
A fiercely determined sort who (because he couldn't get a license) drove a Deer 110 with a trailer from Laurens Iowa to Mt Zion Wisconsin to visit his dying brother?

I don't know Alvin Straight but my neighbor drove his 9n to the liquor store several times after losing his license. And who hasn't heard about George Jones and the lawn tractor when they hide all the car keys?

I 'm quite familiar! It's a real popular story on a lawn tractor forum I frequent, and frankly it's an inspiring tale; it actually inspired at least two films, though I've yet to see them.

I do recall, a few years back, losing a few hours on YouTube watching videos about Alvin, his brother, and the family; he was definitely a tough old customer.
