Aluminum blocks - ideas?

I have access to x20 M5 Aluminum blocks 14'" x 7" x 2" that I can acquire for scrap price. Anyone got any cool ideas of what to do with them

The entire pallet is marked as 476 pounds of aluminum.

They would be well worth having for fixturing and making stuff, depending on what machining and welding equipment you have on hand.

hmm. good question. number one thing i'd use them for is as a heat sink when welding parts. That's if you were a production welder. or welded a lot haha.
So i'm not really sure, you could machine them in to something useful, but the question, as you asked, is what.
You could turn them over on ebay, if there's a market for that.
I know solid aluminum rod is pretty sought after. Throw it in a lathe and make a lot of mechanical parts, spacers, dowels, weld bungs, etc.
That is just such a large amount though that you mention. 476 lbs, yikes! and if they're only 14" x 7" x 2". There has to be so many of them.
What were they originally used for i wonder...

They may be the ends left from what was used.

Make easy-to-handle suitcase weights, about 20 lbs each.

Or easily removable ballast box weights.

What are they quoting as scrap price? I make about 3000 pounds of aluminum scrap a month and always feel tail hurt when I sell it.

It's an unusual situation but the price will basically be what I think is fair.
