Very disappointed with John Deere.

Agreed. They are becoming just like car manufacturers. Once the last production run of a vehicle hits 10 years old, they start discontinuing parts left and right. Interior and trim items can get discontinued much sooner than that.

For no-longer-available Deere/Yanmar parts, ask this guy.

Sheaffer's Town & Country Tractor

He used to post in the Yanmar forum, haven't seen him in a while but he's still in business.

He is the go-to guy to find obscure parts, Yanmar and others, that exist overseas. He has the parts books to research most everything Yanmar ever made, worldwide, and has the contacts in Japan to locate your part and ship it. Worst case he also has contacts to custom manufacture gears etc, if it comes to that.

Expect to pay more than for off the shelf parts. His years of research and worldwide contacts are worth what he costs.

And please post what you learn!

I found the part in Georgia and have found a 2nd one if anyone else is looking.
It is $225 and ships from UK
