alt not charging on 12 volt conversion

I m trying to figure out how to hook up the wires to and from alt it has alt and it does run but will not charge I have put a charger on or jump after it runs for awhile. Or after repeated starts does anybody know how to run wiring and if I need a voltage regulator

need to know what type of alternator it is (ford, chrysler, GM) is it internal or external regulator, or is it a generator? have any pictures?

its a delco not sure of model but has battery and two connectors 1 and 2. I have pictures but I don't know how to post pictures here. I have been trying to look for diagrams I found everything but what I need for a 55 ferguson to35 any help is greatly appreciated thank you.

SI internal regulator 3 wire hookup ...

BAT post to the big wire to the battery
small jumper from BAT to pin 2
a wire from the ignition post on the ignition switch ( live when you are in RUN position) goes through a small 12v side marker light and then to pin 1
light is ON when the ignition is ON and the alternator is NOT charging ... goes out when it is charging

other people skip the bulb and use a diode in place of the bulb ... white end points towards the #1 pin on the alternator
