And what else would you get here? I don't think there is a person on here who bought their brand of tractor for absolutely no reason. I have changed makes over the years, and will likely continue to do so. I suppose you won't like me because I looked at, and drove, a Mahindra and didn't like it.

On opinions, you can review my past posts and you'll find that I am an equal opportunity complainer on any make of tractor when it fails me. I've had issues with JD and Kubota and have pointed out those facts. I don't know about others on here, but all I can do is present the facts of my ownership experience, which then becomes my opinion.

Unless the poster is an owner of a tractor manufacturer, I believe you will get as close as an unbiased opinion as you can get. Why would someone stick up for their particular brand if it were a piece of garbage? If something is causing me too much trouble, it is gone. I haven't the time nor desire to wrench on my tractor. Sorry, but in my opinion, you won't get a more unbiased report on a tractor anywhere else than on TBN. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Rick,

First, welcome to TBN, fellow Buckeye!

On the Kubota vs. Mahindra thing, me thinks thou dost protest too much. From your post, it seems you've come to the conclusion that Mahindra is better based on visual inspection, sitting on a Mahindra, and the Demming award. While these are valuable observations, I also want to hear from owners with actual experience using their tractors and their opinions thereof.

Quite often, a tractor shopper will post a question like, "I need a tractor to do x,y and z. What should I get?" Invariably, that post will get responses like, "I have tractor brand A (or B, or C, etc) and I've done x,y and z with it, no problem. You should get one." I confess that I was getting irritated with these answers (even though I was guilty of it myself), since it sounds like they're (I'm) saying, "My tractor's the best." But then I realized that, for me, this was the best information possible -- first hand testimonials from owners of that particular model of that tractor's capabilities.

Now, is Mahindra better than Kubota? It wasn't for me. Mahindra doesn't make a subCUT TLB. If I needed a CUT, then I may have considered them (there's a dealer smack dab in the middle between you and me). Just because I chose Kubota doesn't mean I think they're better than Mahindra across the board.

That said, how's the B7800 workin' out for ya?

Again, welcome to TBN and waddya say we set up a SW Ohio TBN meeting? We can invite Inspector507 and others and have a grand ole time! Maybe in, say, Jeffersonville?

Uh, well, okay, maybe I posted the phone numbers to factory reps as well. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif Oh well, my point is that I'm not going to gloss over a problem with a tractor I own just to make the manufacturer look better. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Hopefully you're not a factory rep and I haven't posted your number as a place where to complain. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif If so, sorry. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

The Mahindra finally made it out to the northwest and I couldn't help but stop in to peek. I liked what I saw, but a couple of things put up red flags for me. Only because I have had tractors with hydraulicly engaged pto's and I see that on one of the models, didn't really look them over to much, it had an electric on off for the pto. Having a 9 in bearcat chipper, I would be concerned about not being able to feather in the clutch to get the chipper going at an idle before increasing power. I have also sheared keys on brush mowers by not being able to bring them to life slowly. The other thing was not being able to change the width in all but the largest unit. I have noticed that most of the cut's like that now though. When mowing on sidehills it is nice to be able to widen out for stability. I'm sure for most folks that they would be a great asset in the garage though.

I missed placing my "smilie" when I said that. It was said "tongue in cheek". I didn't really intend to, nor thought it would, offend you. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif That's why I went on about everyone on here giving "opinions". /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Hee Hee, Me thinks thou needs to put the shakespeare down /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I love the B7800 so far. The way it rode on the trailer on the way home was an awsome sight to behold. Never thought I would own a tractor like that. Bladed a little snow with it and put it in the barn. I'm ready for more snow or grass or some drunk to get stuck in the ditch or Santa to come and say that Christmas won't come unless I pull his sleigh with my Kubota. I don't care what I just need something to do with it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

As for meetin up with you all thats very nice of you to ask. I don't know how much of a TBN regular I will be though. I have enjoyed reading all of the posts and having some fun pulling all your chains. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
