The Snap Coupler system is a traction boosting hitch system developed by and only used by Allis Chalmers from about the early 40's to mid 60s (Models WD 45, D10, D14, D15, D17, D19). It is a very good system and for the size hp of the tractors in that era of farming it was cutting edge. It was a very early quick hitch system, at the time International and Allis Chalmers each used a proprietary implement coupling system (though AC had conversion hitches to 3 point systems), the snap coupler was unique in that it allowed 1 more plow bottom to be pulled over the same tractor from IH or John Deere in the same HP and weight category, (simply due to the mechanics of draft). The popularity of three point hitch is what finally did in the snap coupler system

About 5:00 explains the traction booster system, how it's designed and works and why. 7:30 on explains the snap coupler hitch system.

In short if you are wanting to know if an AC Snap Couple sickly mower can fit your 3 pt compact tractor the answer is yes and no. Yes with modifications through cutting and welding it can, no in it's current form it can't. Note if it is working and in good shape you should be able to find a 3 pt one in comparable condition at the same price or cheaper. My dad had one a few years ago, they are a rarer commodity.
