allis chalmers planter info needed

I bought a single row model 74 allis planter. It doesnt have the drive sprockets on it ( wheel or hopper). does anyone know what the right drive ratio would be ? I am just wanting to use it to plant some sweet corn and maybe some small food plots.
Does anyone have any sprockets or seed plates they are willing to sell?

There are lots of AC planter plates on EBay and also adapters to allow use of Deere plates I bought several sets there. They may also have the sprockets. My planter is a different model so I am not sure of the ratios. Maybe post a picture of what you have and I can compare it to mine.

tell me what you think , I'm new to this kind of planter but I couldnt tell myself no. I am not opposed to using a regular chain and sprocket and just tack welding it on the shaft but I dont know what size is right.

Would it be worth the trouble to make it no-till?
what all parts are needed?

You might give these guys a call. Allis Planter Parts . I had a 2 row 600 series unit planter (I believe it was a 600), they had some parts I needed. This link http://www.schmidtinc.com/partsacplanter.pdf has 2 pages of parts. Some of them are for a 74. I don't know if a 1 row planter would have enough "popcorn in it's britches" to no-till. HCJ refurbed a sweet no-till Allis planter. HTH Mark

I did wonder about it not being heavy enough to get in the ground, I just thought I would try to add some weight. thanks for the link.
