The front electric clutch on the AC 616, AC 620 and the Simplicity 4040 is the same. I keep breaking them. I have a 616 and the thin metal strips that hold the front plate to the clutch break. I'll try and post a picture to help. Actually, it's the pressed rivets that break not the strips.

Does anyone have any experience with these? NOTE, I have broken them 3 times in about 10 years.

Took it all apart and fixed it. Not too bad.

I've repaired the clutch on my AC 620 several times in the last 20 years. On mine the metal strips break. I replace them with hacksaw blade material. Current ones have lasted for more than 5~8 years. I make sure I engage the clutch at an idle and shut off at wide open. Great tractor! I only wish it had power steering.
