About 18 months ago I bought an Allis B with intentions of restoring. This little thing had been standing for many years outside, head off, no cover, many parts missing, all wheels and tires rotted, but I just had to have it as a "project". Wow what a project it has been. Putting it back together I find a small oil line coming out of the pump, across the rear of the engine, then forward on the left side, where it terminates. I know there is another line that connects to it but I have eihter mislaid it or it was missing to begin with. Try as I may I can't figure out where that line goes to. At this point it is terminated behind the oil bath breather. Can someone get me started on this thing again. I'm nearly to the finish line on it and would like to get it back together before my time is up.

Attached picture is text from the service manual from the B-C section about an oil line out of oil pump, this may be it but there is no picture in manual to go with it.

Thanks for the comeback Gator. This is the second time in about two days you've come to my rescue. I do remember a line going to the area of the governor but could not recall specifics. Again thanks for the info.

U R welcome. All Allis Chalmers are good-looking tractors, I used to have a D12 wide front end.

Could that have been a line to a long gone or optional oil pressure guage?

Kinda, see paragraph 2 in my previous attachment and this attachment.

PS, you wouldn't happen to know a father and son that went from northern SC to NC about 20 or more years ago to buy a AC D12 to restore would you? I sold my D12 to a father and son from SC that drove up with a trailer to look at (ended up buying) the D12 wide front end.

I started out with a 48 B, but the motor was so rusted that I ruined it trying to get it to turn over. I also had a 49 C, so I took the motor out of that and put it in the B. I still have trouble remembering that this thing has turned out to be a B/C, and keep referring to it as a B
. I have zero experience in this field and have relied on help from whom ever was available. It was about 18 months ago that I broke it down, I took pictures, obviously not enough. I now remember the line terminating in the area of the govenor so I will be exploring that this AM. Thanks for the comeback. It's this type info that keeps my project on the move. Nearly complete with the exception of a few wires and setting the engine up.
Regards

I confess, I hadn't read your first attachment. Just thought I'd make the suggestion as I mentally pictured the oil gauge on the WD. I was half expecting you to tell me your gauge was in place.

I don't think I know your D12 customers. It's been around 35 years since I used to attend the machinery auctions. There was a big one between Greenville and Anderson. There's a chance I saw the older gentleman in those days and didn't know it.
Good luck with that B/C.

Hi Stuckmotor, Yeah my gauge was in place. I found part of the line was missing with one part going down one side of the engine and the other end going down the other side. It threw me off since I had no idea what it was for in the first place. I have now rerouted the piece coming out of the governor, and spliced it onto the other end and everything is good to go. Thanks for the input. I believe your question concerning the AC D12 was meant for gator.
Wishing you all the best.
