I've posted this in the "tilling" topic, but only because "plow" wasn't an option. I've seen quite a few threads on here about how to use a turning plow, a job that was done yearly in the fall when I was a kid. "No till" has largely replaced the practice since, but it's still needed sometimes. Here's a link to a nice little primer on the turning plow courtesy N.C. State University:
