I have got alge growing in a fuel tank on my skid steer. What can I add to kill it before changing the fuel filters? Thanks Ivan

Talk to your fuel supplier. He should be able to get you some biocide for it.

Most all place's that sell fuel treatment will also sell alge kill.I recomend using any kind your are now using their treatment. It all does the same thing kill Alge.just follow directions. Is it just in your skid steer or do you have a main on site fuel supply I would want to check it also if you do.Does your skid steer have a drain in it's Tank? May be easier to just get rid of the bad fuel clean tank and start again. You will change a lot of filters if you got it bad.

It is not in my storage tank. There was fuel added to the skid steer out of a 5 gal can that was purchased from a station, and I think this is where it came from.

there is a product called biobor, we use in our production boats when they have to set for a while. algae will grow more quickly than you can imagine. you can also buy and install algae-x filters than get rid of the algae before it gets in the engine.
