Air Restriction Indicator on my e-powr 4310 is red

I noticed my Air restrictor was red, so I changed both filters. I tried to reset the air restrictor but I'm not having any luck.
I'm not sure if the restrictor somehow broke. My parts manual doesn't give a clear picture of what it looks like. My question.
"How important is the restrictor?" I check my fluids and filters before and after each use. Does it serve any other purpose besides an indicator
that the air filters need replacing?

Can anyone post a clear picture of what the Air Restriction Indicator looks like.

JD wants $55.00 to replace the restrictor!!

On my 4310, you push on the rubber end on top of the restriction guage.
