Thanks for the info,Do you have any traction problems in mud or snow with that much air in back tires?

None at all. I admit to only running hard in the mud since we don't get much snow though.

Lots of clay mud and I find that they don't fill up easily.

Well time will tell for me I guess, ain't got but about 50 hours on mine, mostly summer time brush hogging, ain't snowed more than an inch here this winter so far, first tractor I ever had with them wide industrials, trying to figure out how much air pressure is needed,Like I said,no fel,no hoe, heavest thing on back will be a 5 ft kk tiller

Tire definatly has a crown to it,think the 20 psi I got in it helped, over the 30 PSI.

Still interested in kioti owners and how much pressure they are using in rears,Still think 30 psi in back is at least 10 psi to much for what I'm doing.

Lightly read on kabota forum,[same tires, etc,]they was talking 8-10 psi, maybe I'm missing something.

The brand of tractor makes no difference except the perspective of the manual's author. The important info is the tire size, load carried, and tire manufacturer's recommendations. (Think Firestone and Ford Motor Company) My experience with NH tractors tells me a range of 8-15 psi for R-4 rears is functionally adequate for most conditions, completely dependent on the load the tires have to carry.

Thanks, thats what I'm talking about,it shouldn't make any difference what brand of tractor sets on them tires as to what air pressure to run in them, just weight etc.

So we got one that runs the manual,we got one that runs manual but lowers them in winter for more traction[he also has a hoe on in summer so yeah],we got one[me] who thinks 30 in back and 50 in front is to much[with out a loader or hoe],and we got one that thinks 30 is way to much in back tires like me.
Whats the rest of you think and use?

Think I know why kioti says 30 psi in them brand /size tires now. Went to goodyears website than on tractor tires, there was titan, downloaded their infalation pdf,[took a long time, many pages],under only chart for that size[skidsteer/loader] tires down at bottom,it said, you got it, 30psi period,if I read it right, said tire was rated for over 6,000 lbs, considering my tractor just weighs 3,000 and its got two on it,must be pretty good tires on them kiotis,if I understand that right. Still think 30 psi is to much for the load,e-mailed them while I was there, but don't expect a reply,[do you?]

Started a thread about this on kabota forum, and somebody else started one on deere forum. On the deere forum there is a good link that is out of deeres manual, lotta good info there and it adresses tire presure with tire sizes.

They give a range of 20-31 psi for my back tires and 12-49 for front. I [like I said] am now using about 20 in back and 30 in front with front suit case weights but no loader and rear tires loaded with methinal So,believe what I'm using is about right for my setup..

Now if you had a loader on,50 would seem about right for front, and if you had a hoe on back, yeah probably 30 in back.

I don't think loaded tires would much affect this[if at all],but still thinking on that, any physics teachers out there?

Just got this e-mail from Jay Ogded, manager, tire technology, titan tire corperation![can't cut and paste with out 5 min directions from my wife,so]

"At 20 psi you can still carry 4830 lbs per tire. I see no reason you couldn't reduce inflation pressure no lower than 20 psi. Any lower and you take a chance of unseating bead from the rim."

Didn't figure I'd get a response, good to know theres still companys like titan tire who actually care about there customers, and people like Jay working there.

FWIW I spun my rims inside my rears so I run on rated pressure (30 psi as labeled on my Titan R4s). I hate to draw attention to my thread, but it's all there in black 'n white. Now I fully admit that the problem was of my making through poor PM, but I have had no traction problems from running full pressures vs lower psi. I'd personally rather spin the tire than the rim. I find the tires/tractor perform better at tire spec for where I operate, and the tasks I perform. Plus I figure I'm doing my tires a favor by running them at their intended pressure. That all said, surely there is a useable range of pressures that are adequate for local conditions that won't hurt your tires. YMMV.

Willie, yeah read your thread, you had under 10 psi didn't you,[you said single digits],others have said they don't or havn't checked theirs, yeah I read the threads.

Have pretty much answered my own question, and the useable range,[if you read my last few posts] are from 20 to 31,depends on weight,my whole tractor with tiller and me on it don't go over 4,000 lbs if book is right,so one tire at 20 psi would do it!
If you want to run 30 in your back tires now,go ahead, but 20 is what I'll be running, softer ride/more traction. [ps,I check things pretty often on my equipement, air in tires being one of those, and unless its going flat from a leak, you won't see one of my rears with under 10 psi in it,maybe 18,but....]
