We have a AT&T air card. Upgraded to a 881U. It connects to a USB port.

The Verizon card of the same type also works well.
Make sure which ever system you get that it will work good at your home base. In my area Verizon and Sprint are not reliable.

I've had it with HughesNet!!! Need Advice

I guess the air card is easily used on different computers. Great info from all.

Thanks for all the info folks.......Coffeeman

About using Wi-Fi and security: There are crooks out there setting up "evil twin" connections. These are placed near a popular public access point, and seem to be legit Wi-Fi hotspots. But once you start to use them, they record everything you do (keyloggers and cookies), or re-direct you to unwanted web sites, or even download junk onto your computer without your knowledge. Be VERY CAREFUL! Try Komando.com to find out more.
