AGT H15 - new but..

Hello all.

I have just pickedup an Agrotek H15 from auction. Got it home and found the battery was dead and hand pull for the engine snapped. While charging the battery, I got the handle fixed and started up the machine.
Blade works up and down, tracks work but the front boom and swinging the machine does not. This is without a battery in. I have been searching around and not found no similar posts so I am wondering if anyone can help trouble shoot. First, I suspect it is the battery not being in place; would this be correct? If it should function without the battery in then what should I look for next?
Also, what sort f replacement battery do you all use? I suspect this battery is toast but waiting to run a check on it once it finishes charging. Thanks for all the great info on here and any help people can provide. It is very much appreciated; especially as I hope to get it working before wife gets home .

OK so newbee here. Battery was the issue for the boom working; figured as much. Put my trctor battery in and no issues. The battery that came with it is completely bad. Now I am trying to figure out the right size of battery. Any takers?

You can put any battery in there that will fit. My machine uses a fairly large automotive-type battery. And it is still going strong after 6 years. I will change to a U1 garden tractor battery when it goes, which will require switching to spade connectors.

I am surprised your boom was locked out with a dead battery. The charging system should have brought your system voltage up high enough to operate the safety solenoid valve. The battery must really be bad. Try charging it on a 2-10A charger to see if you can bring it back.

If the battery was fully disconnected, it is likely that the ground or power to the safety valve is also disconnected.
