Mahindra 2615 HST
I have easy access to either of these hydraulic fluids for basically the same cost. Given the choice, which of these two would you chose for a Mahindra 2615 HST? Why?

Thanks,

Get the specs for what you should be using and compare. Get the MSDS sheet for the oils, then call the manufacturer rep who can get you the specs.
No hurry, just do it right.

My dilema is that the owner's manual for the Mahindra does not give a spec. Instead it lists about a half dozen different name brand oils that will work (ex. Citgo Transguard, Mobil Fluid 424, Shell Donax TD, etc.) I suppose I could contact the manufacturer but hoped some oil guru would speak up. Oh well, maybe I should post on the Mahindra list?

But Thanks Doc_Bob. I appreciate the response.

Even better. Get the specs for those oils and then go from there. They must share a common spec? And with so many choices, just get one on the approved list and use it.

I haven't ever heard anyone say anything bad about the 821XL / Permatran. I have seen instances where other fluids were used in a tractor and then had to be switch back to Permatran. The systems slowed down, got hotter and made a lot more noise when it was cold until switched back. I have never used Chevron 1000 HTF and don’t know anything about it.
