Also what grease are you guys using? I have a tube of lucas red and tacky, and a green tube of lucas. At work we use the green lucas grease, and also sta- lube red plex I believe it is.

I'm just entering the world of LOT'S of zerks to fill.

Qualifiers over most of the grease threads:
I'm wanting to use a multi-purpose grease for most of the fittings (tractors, truck, Backhoe, etc.). Things that SPECIFY a certain grease I'll use different.
I'm wanting BULK, gallon or 5 gallon, not tubes, 2 tubes cost about $10 & 5lbs less than $20.

So - what's a good grease in a 1 gallon or 5 gallon container?

I buy molly grease from TSC. Molly is an excellent, cheap, additive that makes plain grease qualify as "heavy duty".

It is more important to grease on schedule than to buy a hyped super-grease with heaps of testimonials.

That's my theory - I just bought 10 grease guns so I could make sure I didn't here the excuse "Well I couldn't find a grease gun"

One of the best on the planet, most water resistant and water insoluble . Get it on your hands and even soap and water will not remove it easily. provides excellent anti-seize protection under high loads. Outstanding adhesion enables this product to stay in place better than most other greases.

Overgreasing with average quality grease will do a lot better than undergreasing wit the best grease.

Before you mess with tubs of grease (messy) check out the tubes of moly that HF sells. I use that with good results. Tubs work best when you have a air driven loader pump to fill your gun. Oh, don't buy there pneumatic gun, it sucks, went through one a year, finally bought an Alemite.
