Kubota 3030 Ford 2120
I'm thinking of getting a set of Ag tires and wheels for my B3030. Anyone know if the wheels are proprietary to Kubota or are there other makes that will fit?

The better part of all wheels used in this country are made by the same company. From one tractor brand to another you will find that many will switch. The biggest thing would be to find the rims to match in size with the right tires to give you the proper gearing so you wouldn't hurt the drive train of the tractor.

We've seen it happen and just with running the wrong designation R-1 to R-3 with the right size will cause extensive damage. I hated myself the day we sent that new tractor out!

To buy new should be about 1,000 from the dealer depending on taxes and shipping and would gaurantee a good fit and longeviety of your tractor.

I understand I need to match the front and rear exactly to factory specs for tire size otherwise I could seriously screw things up and the tire sizes do seem unique to this tractor. You're right, my best bet probably is buying new or finding someone looking to get rid of a set.

It takes more than just a lead/lag greater than 5% to blow out transmissions.

Being in 4 WD with very good traction, making sharp turns and having a fragile tractor are the obvious factors.

The first two I've only done when clearing snow and hitting bare dry salted patches of road, avoidable but too easy to forget in winter. Mine just hops until I either stop, get into 2WD again, or find more snow.

Kinda hard to believe that a trannie would blow out instead of the tires hopping.

Anyway, what were the factory original ag tires for this tractor ?
They're almost certainly NOT a proprietary size, bolt circle or anything much else.
From your owners manual or sales brochure can you list the tire options and their sizes ? e.g. Ag R1 size front & rear, Turf R3, Industrial R4.
Number of bolts front and rear would help - typically 6 or 8.
I might know of some ag sets for small'ish CUTs.

.

Tire manufacuters due to design and the way they build them will often change the lead lag by 2 to 3% alone within the size.

The most common failures are the driveshafts and or couplers and the splines.

With the amount of ag tractors and compacts we have in our area I could say we see about five failures a year because of this problem. Some customers have self inflicted the problem from mixing sizes when replacing. Some are from the makes and design styles of the tires. Air pressure might help but won't cure tread style differences in soft soils.

You can buy the right stuff today or another day only with the repair bill added! It more then likely will get you!

I currently run the Industrial tire which is fine for all around use. My thought is, once mowing season is over to switch to Ag. which according to the book are 7-12 Front and 12.4-16 rear. It's not essential; I have a Ford 2120 w/ Ag tires, but the Kubota is easier to trailer to my other property. Plus, I have the cab on the B3030 to keep me toasty running around in the woods fall thru spring. That being said, I would never put anything on that wasn't dead on manufacture specs.
