Mahindra 5525
I have a Mahindra 5525, it didn't come with rear remotes and I stupidly didn't have the dealer install a single spool when I bought it. They want about $800 to intall one. I think I can buy the kit for about $500 and try install it myself.

But I was wondering if a aftermarket kit would work or if you could piece one together. Does it have to be a Mahindra brand?

Forgive me I know nothing of the remotes and how they work, but I'm fairly machincally inclined and was hoping to get it done a little cheaper.

I can't source a aftermarket kit for a Mahindra. If you find a supplier, I would appreciate the contact info. Thanks, Ken

There should be no reason that you could not add your remotes, assuming you have the skills to do so. Do you fully understand the routing of the hyd fluid. Do you have the pump to FEL, to 3pt to tank setup? If your FEL has PB, then use that as the pressure for the next valve in series. You can have as many remotes as you want. All tank lines go to tank. The spools can have different functions, such as detent, motor spool, float, etc. On the stack valves , you can build them as you want, or a ready made 2 or three lever valve. Just ensure the valve has the GPM flow capability that the pump is pumping. You might even try the reusable fittings, and get a good fit with the hoses. Go for it.

Pump Rated Output 10.5 gpm
Steering Pump Output 4.8 gpm

you should be able to assemble your own "kit" for less thant the dealer list...
...find out what fittings are germane to the Mahindra and get the rest from places like 'surplus center' and 'discount hydraulic hose' etc...

Ok, If I understand your post..... your assuming that I have some external hydraulic equipment already?? only thing I have now is the 3 pt and steering and I'm wanting to add a single rear remote.

Sorry I don't currently understand the flow of the standard tractor hydraulic system. Maybe if someone has a tractor hydraulics 101 diagram so I can understand the flow.

If you can purchase the Mahindra kit for $500, I'd do that. Kits normally are much neater installations and are engineered for the layout of your tractor. You may find that the $500 kit is just the valve and you need an additional kit for the lever and hydraulic lines to the rear quick connects. This is sometimes done by manufacturers who use the same valve on several different machines and the finishing kit is then the difference.

If you start doing your own remotes, even if you understand what you are doing, I'd bet you will wish you'd spent the money on the OEM kit before you are finished. Besides, if you install the OEM kit, it can be serviced at any Mahindra dealer and spare parts will also be available form Mahindra. I'd think twice about doing one on my own.:2cents:

While we're on the subject, I've been looking for a part # for a Kubota B3030 remote kit.
Can't seem to find it on any parts lookup sites, most likely because it's a wholegoods PN, like my rear work light kit was.
I'm thinking that I might be able to handle the install if I could locate the kit part number and track down a price someplace. Definitely leaning toward Kubota parts due to the seamless fit of the levers into the space provided inside the cab. Any assistance is appreciated.

800 is a lot. 450 is a lot to. when you know what you are doing it is 2 fittings 2 8ft hoses and one set quick couplers.and 30 to 60 min time.we do it for 150$ when we sell a backhoe.Ray coldwater loaders and backhoes

Where is the spool valve?

ok add 63$

Really, with float? So I can bring about any tractor in to you and you'll furnish and install a rear remote with float position with the female QDs for $213? You should advertise on TBN and just sell the parts, no one here is getting that sort of a deal. ;)
