I have a BX24 and after using the backhoe for several hours, the cylinders get very hot. I am wondering if there is an after market cooler available to hook up between the return side and the pump. Sort of like a transmission radiator cooler. Where could it be hooked to augment the whole hydraulic system? maybe the return side of the backhoe? Has anyone done this?

I have no personal experience with the BX24, but there is already a hydro oil cooler on my B2620. Look near your radiator.....on mine it is in front of the radiator, but due to the BX24's radiator being rear mounted it may be on the dash side of it. Anyways, it looks similat to a radiator, minus the fins on mine.

In any use of hydraulics you are going to get heat. Generally the temps are in the range where it would hurt to put your hands on the cylinders. This is a normal heating due to the compression of the oil. I would think your tractor would already have a cooler since its a factory TLB, maybe the heat you are worried about is just the machine getting up to operating tempreature?

No hydro cooler on the BX's, just a little fan blowing on the housing.

The hydraulics run about 100 degrees above ambient. The cylinders get too hot to touch in 100+ weather.

No idea how to fit a cooler.

I thought about it for my BX23, but where would you mount it?
