Hi Guys,
I remember someone posting a web site onetime about
where to see aerial photos of your property. I believe it
was free. I would like to see an aerial of some property
I am looking at renting. Any help TRULY appreciated. Thanks, Rick

I used terraserver in the past but don't believe the dates on their pics are accurate. They list mine as being 1992 or so but there's only a hole in the ground where my house is /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Google's seems to have the same aerial view and is dated 1989 (which is when there was a hole in the ground).

I thought all of the online satellite maping services all used the same pool of satellite photos (ie, USGS or SPIN etc).
I've been waiting for my place to show up. Ive check several different services and found the same pics everywhere.

I think they do use the same.

Still waiting to see my place as well.

The land is there /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif but no house yet...

I think Google just acquired access to the Keyhole satellite, but the resolution isn't as good as what used to be available from MapQuest.

Rick,

Also check the county where the property is located. My county has the images online and of course you can walk in a get them as well. The images available at the Courthouse are better than what is online since they are done with aircraft. They can print out large format paper as well.

Depending on what was done there was no or little cost for the images.

Later,
Dan

Thanks Nasty,

Yep... Their views are more current. Looks like mine was from last year.

You may want to check out your county's tax accessors office online. On my county's website they have a GIS function which allows you to do site, site w/overlays, aerial, and topo. It also gives addl. details such as value, acreage, owners name, etc.

Check it out - much better than any of the generic sites I have found.

Globe Explorer had the latest image for mine as well. Too bad they paste their logomark all over the image. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

MapQuest had an excellent service. Why did they drop it?
