Dave!
Try the TSC Post hole digger. Great value and plenty strong. I bought one new last year with a 12" auger and all together it was less than $500.00. They make a weight kit and a hydraulic down-pressure setup to add later if you need it.

Any time you need to plant something, it's way easier than the manual way.
I drilled the sonotubes for my tractor shed in about an hour. (clay and rocks)

By the way, read your manual and pick up some shear pins now. Nothing like having the project ready to go, friends along to help, starting to drill, and BANG! - no drill. Running into town then will seem a little long after that. Besides, Murphy's Law says bring an extra nail with you when you go up a ladder and you won't drop any. If you bring exactly what you need you'll be on another round trip on that ladder. Well Old Murphy looks at shear pins the same way. If you got spares, you won't need 'em. ;)

I bought the cheap "star" model from the local farm&fleet. About 500 bucks with the 9 and 12" augers. I never use the 9" auger. When I added on to the pole barn, I wished for a 15 or 18" auger. There is about ZERO tolerance with the 12". You either dig it perfect spot on the first time or you are digging by hand.

I got the TSC PHD and a 9" auger. I have put in a couple miles of fence and I liked the 9" as it works well for the 8" corner posts and 5" regular posts.
