Looking to purchase a Track Loader and mulcher to clear my 40 acre parcel of small hardwoods/alder bushes etc.Also have to go over timber land cut 10-12 years ago.Will a skid steer/mulcher handle the stumps?

40 acres is aggressive for a skid steer. It will do it, but it will take a while. Depending on the size of the trees, count on about 1 acre every 8 hours with a hammer head and trees not over 6". They will handle stumps, but large hardwoods take a LONG time and it's no fun at all. Get a high flow stump grinder to make life easier.

You would probably be better off (and way cheaper) hiring someone to do it. You will have around $100K it the setup and you will break things learning how to operate it. You will also burn a lot of fuel. We burn 40 gallons per 8 hour day in our bobcat T320.

Much cheaper to hire it out, $400 an hour for a 300 hp LamTrac with a Fae Head,All I half too do is stand back and drink coffee or beer and point and pay!Still like to have a steer for the future development of the property.Building a RV Park so a Skid Steer would come in handy I beleive.
