Does anyone have some experience moving an outbuilding? I have a 14x18 summer kitchen on a crumbling cinder block foundation. Building is in good shape. It will be moved to a new foundation approximately 150 ft away. The ground is gently sloped downhill (1 to 2 ft drop).
I already have some 16ft 2x4s, 10ft 2x8s and lots of other wood for bracing. I have no idea how much is enough or how to brace.

Of course, that could mean I might have a new building after the attempted move. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. We are on a wait list for a professional mover but its been over 5 months now. I can post pictures if that would help. Thanks

The distance you are moving the building will be a problem with a crane. Maybe a move and then reset the crane repeated a few times would work.

Anyway here is my 20'x10' shed being moved by crane. It was moved about 30'. As you can see, the floor is well braced to be able to withstand this type of pick and lift.

Maybe not suitable for your case, but, probably worth inquiring about.

Hi Dave
That is interesting, I never thought of a crane. My building doesn't have a floor as part of the structure so that probably changes how it can be moved. Thank you for the suggestion.
