advice on haybine

I am looking for a new used haybine. I have found one at an upcoming auction its a new holland 492. This is where I need some advice, does anyone own one? have any opinions? what too look for? any opinion,

How much hp to run one? years built? anything helps:thumbsup:

I have put many hours on a 489 years ago which is the same design. I think the 492 might even be the newer model of the 489.

Very good machine if taken care of and can mow a lot of hay for sickle bar mower conditioner. The things to look at are the wobble gear box and the condition of the rollers. As far as HP our 489 ran with less than 50 and I would think this would be about the same.
