Just turned 48 hrs. Decided to do the service just a little early. Have 120 Yds
of fill dirt and crushed asphalt waiting to make a driveway here in Florida.
I had already changed the engine oil at about 10 hrs-no problem other then the painted on oil filter. Current engine oil change went smooth. Proceeded to drain the hydraulic fluid, only one drain plug on the gear model-right?
The filter came of relatively easy. To my surprise there wasn't a lot of metal shavings on the plug, cleaned and reinstalled. New filter of course also. Put in 5.5 gallons of Hydro Fluid (Traveller Brand TSC)
Started engine and let it warm for a few minutes and then tried the loader. To my surprise the loader shuddered like crazy. All upward motion, including the 3 pt with my chipper on it shuddered also. Let it run for a while and nothing improved. Also there might be some additional pump noise-? Check of the sight glass revealed nothing, can't determine fluid level that way. Give a good old dip stick anyday

Just for the record I performed 50 hr services on a Kubota and my previous DK-35 gear in Tn. (Loved that DK-35) Had to downsize, because of much smaller acreage.

Any hints/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Yes, I will provide pics soon.

Sounds like trapped air in the system. Cycle the loader arms and bucket curl fully extended and retracted 3 times. Make sure you fully extend and retract the cylinders. This will help cycle trapped air from the system.

Do the same to your 3-point system, all the way up and down 3 times.

In the future, you may also want to consider using one of the KIOTI recommended hydraulic fluids.

Don't forget the following 50 hr items:

Clutch Free Travel
Brake Free Travel
Torque the lug nuts
Torque the Loader bolts
Grease the front axle
Grease the brake pivots

I have a CK20 I bought new in 2005. I find that the sight glass works fine on mine, although I would prefer a dipstick too. I have to get down on my knee to see it but when the level is correct it is easy to see. Makes me wonder if your fluid level is too low or too high. With the sight glass it is hard to tell if is completely below or above it.

MichiganIron recommends using Kioti rec. fluid. The fluids recommended by Kioti, in my owners manual, are obsolete and have been superceded many times. What are you supposed to use? TSC Travellers UTF meets a herd of manufacturers requirements(JD J20C, Kubota UTD), and many, many more. I used TCS fluid for my change and now am experiencing a situation similar to another TBN poster; air bubbles in the fluid when the machine is running. The fluid appears somewhat opaque in the sight glass when running, but clears up when it is shut down. The original fluid may have done the same, I never checked it when the machine was running. The loader and 3 pt. operate as normal, but I've yet to put the hoe back on. There was no water in the original fluid and certainly none in the replacament fluid, as the containers were sealed. I didn't mean to hijack the thread, just thought this might be an appropriate forum for my (concern)

I used TSC hyd fluid for my first service and have had no problems at all. I did use Kioti filters. I have checked the fluid several times in the past 50 hours and it is clear with no bubbles. I have a CK20 hst.

Thanks for all of the input.
Got up this morning and had TSC fluid all over the garage floor. Filter started leaking overnight. What a mess to get up to.
Purchased another filter from the DEALER???? that I purchased my CK-20s from. They had no clue that the S model even existed????
Started all over-new filter (no leak) NAPA premium fluid totally different consistency from the watery like TSC fluid. Let her warm up and everything worked perfect.
Still can't figure out the filter-not leaking yesterday when I had the shuddering FL. Hope that someone else can learn from this thread.
