I cut about 2 acres around my house with my BX2660 and appreciate having cruise control but, when I set it, my ground speed drops perhaps 15% after I take my foot off of the speed pedal. Is there an adjustment that can be made to keep the tractor going the speed I would like to set it? Naturally, the engine speed does not change. Thanks.

I found the same problem with the new BX I have. What I have found is to speed up a little more than you want, then set it and it will drop to where you want. Dont really know if there is an adjustment for it, but its not really a big problem for me. My biggest worry, is hitting a bump.....falling off because I didnt use the seat belt....and watching my new toy going across the yard and me in pursuit....then it hitting a tree and stopping....LOL.

My two Kubotas are older models but both have that same mechanical cruise mechanism and they both do the same thing. They are evidently not anything more than some kind of pretty basic linkage that locks the HST pedal setting. When I want to set the cruise, it's always a hit or miss attempt to get it moving enough faster that it will settle down to the desired speed as the cruise is set. Strangely enough, I seldom use the cruise.

Yup...my BX25D does the same...I just take it as a cue to slow down and smell the roses as I am mowing. :D

No time to smell any roses. I floor the hydro and get disgusted that my speed drops 15% when I lock the cruise.

I could never mow my property at those speeds...too bumpy! I did, however, step on the pedal yesterday to see how fast it was and it really took off!

Are these newer tractors the same as mine from about 2004? The cruise is implemented by pushing 2 saw tooth cams together. The 15% drop that I feel is from the teeth locking together.

Sounds like you need to sell the BX and get a Deere with the E Hydro. Otherwise you will have to live the sector lock cruise control.
