I've owned my D3 for 14 years and last Saturday I decided to tighten the tracks in addition to my annual change the oil, fluids and once over check...

The manual has a one line sentence with a picture showing 1.5 to 2" deflection between the front sprocket and mid mount idler. I may have gone too tight using the grease gun adjustment to tighten the track on one side.

I get different deflection rates depending on if I was going forward, reverse or using the brakes...

How bad is too little deflection and how should the tracks be set to get an accurate measurement?
